Who is Dan Holtz

Dan Holtz is an independent online publisher with experience selling original products online and building the systems behind them. In the early 2000s, he created numerous digital products and membership sites for digital products, and wrote the custom PHP scripts that ran them.

After a long break from online business, he is now exploring what it takes to build useful, sustainable projects with limited resources and unreliable infrastructure. His current interests include online publishing, practical uses for AI, and the realities of working with modest hardware and a variable connection.

Why he writes here

FlexyMoola covers making money online from a position most advice ignores: no capital, no team, and a connection that drops. Dan writes from inside that position rather than looking back on it. His income came from products he built, priced, hosted and supported himself, so he judges platforms and tools as someone who could have written them — and he is blunt about shortcuts that don’t hold, including ones he has taken.

He also writes about the parts that are usually left out: what a tool costs you when it fails, what a payment processor does when nobody is watching, and which advice survives contact with a 4G modem. Recommendations here are limited by use rather than commission. When something doesn’t work, that gets published too, and when he gets something wrong, he corrects it in the same place he said it.
